This is how it starts…
OK.
This is how it starts.
And I’m a little embarrassed, to be honest. We started making this film more than two years ago. It’s been a long time coming. Thanks for being patient.

Megan Hamilton (Frogpond, Oxblood Records)
Could the film have been done sooner? I’m not sure. ‘Cuz to be honest, we didn’t really know what we were getting into. I’d never made a film before, Nick had never cut one, and neither of us realized how much help we would need from Tom, Duane, Bill or Jason.
And it’s still not *totally* done. But it’s done enough to have been submitted to a ton of small and regional festivals. Done enough to have been accepted at two, maybe three of ‘em so far. And done enough for me to start using the software I’ve been helping build for the last year to get this thing ready for the world. We’re going to premiere at the Maine International Film Festival on July 12th, then hopefully head to KC for an underground sneak-peak fundraiser thing, and then screen at festivals during the fall, including the Kansas International Film Festival in September.
Most of my LA peeps don’t even know this film exists. Most of my KC peeps wonder what the fuck I’ve been doing all this time. The rest of you are probably saying “Oh, jeez, Bob. You made a movie? Really? Do we have to watch it?”
The answer is “No.” Unless you want to. Unless you love music. Unless you love musicians. Then you *have* to watch it. Because in my opinion, the musicians in the film deserve to be heard. Not because they’re geniuses, but because they aren’t. Because they’re honest and real, like you and me. Human. Flawed. And good.
I really hope we’ve made something that makes ‘em proud. Again, fingers crossed.
Thanks for reading this far.
More soon.
The trailer looks great! It looks like you all did a great job & I can’t wait to see it!
I think this looks amazing. i would like to talk some time. My partner and i made the Cowtown Ballroom Documentary that is playing in town right now… and i would love to talk to you about ways you can get this thing out there. if its half as beautiful as the trailer i am fucking impressed. as a fellow musician (pendergast etc) and friend to almost all these musicians… i am so excited to see this.

Yeah – like you arent busy enough! Well Mater’s baby movies should take on a more polished sheen anyway… Can’t wait for the LA premier.
Thanks for the props, guys. Mary and Anthony, I’ll be in touch. Steve, you aren’t kidding.
See you soon.
Yo this is so awesome! Actaully I was at that Coalesce show you recorded. I been waiting for this for 2 long years for this. I noticed I am in the trialer that is so cool! Just wondering is this coming out on DVD? I have to go out of town when the screenings happen in Kansas in septemeber.
I was at the 2nd Maine screening last night. Congratulations on such an excellent piece of filmmaking. Well shot, well edited, well recorded (!) and great performances onstage & off. It really hit home with me, a 40 yr-old veteran of the life depicted (drummer of Actionslacks). I moved 3,000 miles from my band a few years ago for work and family after 10 years of recording, touring, and label shenanigans. But we’re still trying to make it work, because that’s what you do. Too bad the Architects couldn’t make the post-premiere show, but I was glad for the opportunity to see the film early on, out here in the hinterlands.
i want to go to this on the sept 18th if i could get times that would be great. i wa slooking for tickets,b ut could not find anything please e-mail me with any info.

Some tips i have constantly told folks is that when searching for a good on the net electronics store, there are a few elements that you have to remember to consider. First and foremost, you should really make sure to look for a reputable along with reliable retail store that has gotten great assessments and rankings from other customers and industry experts. This will ensure that you are handling a well-known store to provide good assistance and aid to its patrons. Many thanks sharing your notions on this blog.
You completed various good points there. I did a search on the matter and found nearly all folks will consent with your blog.
I perform a lot of number analysis for these types of games because I feel that history can give us an idea of what may happen in the future. As you may or may not know sometimes its hard to know the winning team in professional football. This is the main reason why I recommend using statistics for football.
This was a really nice post.

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
